Admissions

The Admissions Department will be overseeing the following aspects of your child’s admission:
receipt of application forms, Open Morning appointments and school tours, arrangements for admissions assessments, interviews with the Principal and the relevant Head of School.

 

The School accepts pupils for admission at the key entry points of Foundation Stage, Year 7, Year 10 and Year 12. We do not accept students midway through examination years, notably for entry to Year 11 and Year 13.

WHAT OPPORTUNITIES ARE THERE FOR PARENTS TO DISCUSS PROGRESS, CONCERNS, ETC?​

BISP places great importance on providing various structured and informal avenues for parents to engage in discussions about their child’s progress and any concerns they may have. These opportunities include Parent Information Evenings at the start of each academic year for every year group, Parent Conferences held throughout the academic year, and the flexibility to schedule appointments with class teachers, subject specialists, the Head of Juniors, and the Principal during regular school hours. Additionally, informal communication between parents, teachers, and the Head of Juniors often takes place when children are picked up at the end of the school day. We also provide regular and official progress reports throughout the school year.

 

A-Levels (Advanced Level qualifications) are a UK subject-based qualification for students aged 16 and above. They are usually studied over two years, leading to qualifications recognised for entrance to higher education institutes in the UK and many others worldwide.

 

Yes, the British International School Palestine (BISP) is an accredited educational institution. It has received accreditation from Array Global Services USA. Additionally, BISP offers the qualifications of Pearson and serves as an examination center for Pearson Edexcel for both IGCSE and A-Level programs, with the supervision of the British Council. This accreditation and partnership with recognized organizations demonstrate the school’s commitment to providing high-quality education and internationally recognized qualifications to its students

HOW IS THE STUDENT ROLL MADE UP?

We are delighted that you are considering BISP for your child’s education and we welcome your interest in the School. The application process begins a year in advance of September

 

A: Prospective parents are welcome to visit BISP, but we kindly request that they schedule an appointment during the regular school term and week. This allows parents to witness the school in action and interact with the communication officer, addressing any questions they may have. We encourage parents to contact the school in advance to arrange their visit.

 

Annual Parent Information meetings mark the start of each school year. We conduct regular Parent Meetings for personalized discussions regarding academic progress. Throughout the academic year, parents can arrange one-on-one appointments with the relevant teacher, department head, or the school’s head. Parents regularly receive written reports on their child’s performance.

 

The Application Process

Submit an application with required documentation

To initiate the application process, please submit your application along with all the necessary supporting documents. Please be aware that we will only begin reviewing applications once we have received all the required documents. Upon receiving your application, we will acknowledge its receipt and maintain it on record for potential enrollment in the specified academic year

Assessment scheduled and Registration Fee paid

Assessments will be arranged based on seat availability, and there is a chance that an applicant might undergo assessment and be placed on a waiting list. The registration fee must be paid by the date of the assessment. Please note that the registration fee is non-refundable and does not guarantee the allocation of a spot.

Assessment & interviews (both Parents Present)

Admission offers are contingent upon the successful completion of the application process and the satisfactory performance in an academic entrance examination encompassing English, Mathematics, and Non-Verbal Reasoning. Upon acceptance, you will receive an official letter along with the requisite documentation that must be duly completed and returned.
